Why we blow our own trumpet.
Selling fireworks, and ONLY fireworks isn’t easy, despite what people think, so to do it for 20 years takes some doing.
We start early, usually February-March when the stock lists come out for that year, and we usually have all our orders in place by mid-April. That way we know we will get the stock we order and not rely on scraps. It’s not unheard of for us to take big orders that time of year benefitting from extra discounts which get passed on to you, the customer. As you can see we are hoping that the orders we place we will sell that year and unfortunately we don’t have the benefits of a crystal ball.
Unlike 90% of pop-up shops, we have a special license allowing us to sell fireworks all year long. Why don’t other companies do it? Because fireworks are intensely seasonal and they know they aren’t going to sell them, so why bother with the extra expense and hassle? We don’t see it that way if we did we could save a lot of money, but we specialise in Fireworks and that’s our USP (Unique selling point).
As the year moves on and Bonfire night approaches, all of a sudden everyone’s a firework retailer, they come from out of the woodwork in force. Some of them buy anything, irrespective of quality, and sell it to you, the public at a HUGE saving, which it isn’t despite what the box says. Illegal fireworks are rife, illegal firework sales are the same all under the umbrella of Fireworks, so they must be ok?
Back to us, by Bonfire Night our stock is in and sales are starting. This is where we come into our own. When you come into our shop you are welcomed by an array of fireworks all with important information on them. We have videos playing of our stock, but most importantly, you have us.. The Firework Store to help and for you to ask questions. Unlike a lot of shops and Supermarkets, the people you speak to know what they are talking about. We don’t point at leaflets, we aren’t vague, we don’t inadvertently give false or even dangerous information out. This usually refers to safety practices.
For that reason, we see familiar faces every year, and it’s always great to see the children that came in with their parents, bringing in their own children.
